Co-Parenting Resources

  • Co-Parenting Counselor or Coach

The attorneys at Link Nestheide are connected to a network of parenting professionals who are trained in mental health or social work. Sometimes referred to as co-parenting counselors or co-parenting coaches, these professionals can assist parents with establishing healthier and more effective communication to serve the best interest of their children.

  • Parenting Coordinator

A parenting coordinator is a lawyer or mental health professional who is appointed by the court to serve in a decision-making capacity for parents who are working under a court-ordered shared parenting plan. The parenting coordinator can make lower level or day-to-day decisions, but cannot determine the amount of parenting time each parent receives, whether one parent receives sole custody, or where a child will attend school.

  • Co-Parenting Books

Your attorney can recommend numerous helpful printed resources to assist you with understanding your new role as divorced or separated co-parent. A few books we highly recommend are The Co-Parenting Handbook by Karen Bonnell and BIFF for Co-Parent Communication by Bill Eddy.

  • Co-Parenting Apps

Many of our clients find value through the use of co-parenting apps which can provide a central location for messaging, calendars, contact information, and expense sharing. Popular apps include OurFamilyWizard, Cozi, AppClose, and 2Homes.
