Associate Attorney
Relationships are one of the most important things to many of us. This is why I am passionate about using my professional expertise to support clients through relationship and family structure changes. I came to Family Law after trying my hand in a few different careers, and each of those experiences shaped the skill set that I bring to my clients today. Prior to attending law school, I studied and worked in the art field. Many of the characteristics of great written documents and oral advocacy are similar to the characteristics of visual art. Recognizing nuances allows for a thoroughness that can be alluring in visual or written work. Challenges can be opportunities to create unexpected solutions with the right curiosity and circumstances. I pride myself on seeing the bigger picture when working through Family Law cases, and creatively guiding my clients through a process that is best for the particular circumstances of their case.
During and immediately after law school, I worked with small business owners and creative professionals drafting contracts and registering their intellectual property. While I initially believed intellectual property law was the right fit for my creative background, I soon learned that the lack of personal interaction did not satisfy my desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of my clients. I jumped at the opportunity to begin a career in Family Law and now, after several years of experience in the field, I know with confidence that this is what I was meant to do. It is an honor to guide my clients through some of the most emotionally challenging times in their lives. My personality and experience bring a calm, clear voice to situations that can feel emotionally charged and uncertain. My analytical skills allow me to review the options available and determine the best approach to move a case toward a quick and favorable conclusion. Every Family Law case is different, and therefore each resolution is also unique. I love that Family Law allows me to use litigation and advocacy skills when needed, and also allows me to be a collaborator at the negotiation table in more amicable circumstances. Each day in Family Law is different and interesting.
In my time outside work, I enjoy bike rides and riding horses, and I have two dogs who love park days (and all walks). The horse I adopted when she was two years old is now a lesson and trail horse at a farm in Northern Kentucky. Her transition from a young, wild thing into a dependable adventure partner is one of my biggest sources of pride. Watching all my nieces and nephew grow up is another.
