Lindsey R. Gutierrez
Of Counsel
Attorney Lindsey Gutierrez joins Link Nestheide Family Law after serving as a magistrate in the Hamilton County Domestic Relations Court from November 2019 to December 2024. Prior to becoming a magistrate, Lindsey was Judge Jon Sieve’s judicial clerk. As a magistrate, Lindsey presided over all aspects of domestic relations cases, ranging from pre and post-decree custody, parenting time, child support, and property issues. She also heard petitions for domestic violence civil protection orders and served as a mediator in the Court’s Dispute Resolution Department.
Lindsey received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in May 2008. At the College of Law, she was a member of the Moot Court Executive Honor Board, Immigration and Nationality Law Review, Human Rights Quarterly, and participated in the Indigent Defense Clinic through the Ohio Justice and Policy Center. During law school, she worked for the Ohio Innocence Project and the Denver Office of the Colorado State Public Defender.
Prior to becoming a magistrate, Lindsey worked in private practice in Cincinnati, handling both domestic relations and criminal defense matters. Lindsey also worked for a Family Law firm located in New York City, New York, where she obtained a wealth of knowledge in high net worth divorce matters. She additionally spent a considerable portion of her practice in New York drafting pre and post-nuptial agreements.
In her years of practice, Lindsey has been fortunate to obtain wide-ranging litigation experience. She was co-counsel in a high-profile murder case profiled on Dateline NBC, and she successfully appeared before the Ohio Supreme Court addressing a significant issue faced by appellate courts across Ohio, regarding whether a predicate offense and felony murder are allied offenses of similar import.
On a personal note, Lindsey and her husband have two children. While not practicing law, Lindsey spends the weekends on the soccer field with her son and at FC Cincinnati games.
